My returning documentary series Great British Gardens: Season by Season with Carol Klein (Channel 5) paired one of the best known names in horticulture with Britain's most memorable gardens. With each episode covering a year in one location, access had to be impeccably maintained, stories well-planned and new threads identified and followed to make a glorious and fascinating journey through the seasons.

Filming and directing these episodes, I employed techniques to show off the gardens at their best, from aerial to macro, but at the heart of each story, as with all my films, were the people: the characters behind the spectacle, and their incredible passion, knowledge and quirks made this an unmissable watch.

Winner for the Garden Media Guild Roy Lancaster Award for TV Broadcast of the Year.

Other notable documentary work includes the BBC Two ob doc series Britain in Bloom, following the diverse communities taking part in one of the UK's largest annual competition, the RHS Britain in Bloom contest, and BBC One's The Truth About...Your Teeth, requiring sensitive handling of contributors and hospital locations to find and follow compelling stories.
